About me
Lauren Alesio, BS, RRT, is a dedicated respiratory therapist and newly appointed Pneumonia Navigator at Danbury Hospital, effective May 31, 2026. With 20 years of service at Danbury Hospital and 17 years as a respiratory therapist, Lauren brings extensive clinical expertise spanning acute care, critical care, and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
Lauren earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from the University of Connecticut and an Associate of Respiratory Care from Naugatuck Valley Community College. She holds Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Disease Educator certifications from the AARC and is currently pursuing her MBA at Southern New Hampshire University.
In her most recent role in outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Lauren made a measurable impact by redesigning and expanding the patient education program from 10 to 16 modules, strengthening disease understanding and self-management. She also streamlined departmental workflows to improve efficiency and patient throughput.
Lauren is actively engaged in leadership and professional development, having served as a Board Member for the Connecticut Society for Respiratory Care. She currently contributes to the COPD Readmission Committee and the Patricia A. Tietjen, MD Teaching Academy.
A lifelong resident of the greater Danbury area, Lauren resides in Middlebury, CT with her two children. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, live music, exploring local breweries, and watching football.
