Haley Wheeler, M.A., CCC-SLP is a speech-language pathologist licensed in Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts who has practiced at Sharon Hospital for ten years. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Connecticut (Go Huskies!). At Sharon Hospital, Haley provides inpatient and outpatient services across the age spectrum and values the diverse caseload that comes with working in a rural community hospital. She is committed to delivering patient-centered, evidence-informed care tailored to each client’s needs.
Haley is deeply passionate about continuing education and professional development. She has earned multiple ACE awards from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association for her dedication to lifelong learning and holds several clinical certifications, including advanced training in instrumental swallowing assessment and evidence-based treatment programs for dementia care, dysphagia, neurogenic voice disorders, and respiratory muscle strength training. Her passion for education led her to join the Patricia A. Tietjen, MD Teaching Academy as an Inaugural Scholar in 2021, where her project focused on expanding accessible educational offerings, developing an evidence-based resource toolbox, and building a community of practice for speech-language pathologists across Nuvance Health. To further strengthen her skills as an educator, Haley returned to UConn and completed a master’s certificate in Health Professions Education in 2024. She now serves as a Scholar Fellow with PATMDTA, applying her expertise in clinical education and professional development.
Outside of work, Haley enjoys hiking to scenic lookouts, crafting bouquets from her cut-flower garden, savoring a good cup of coffee, and adventuring with her husband and two young children.
